In my understanding Rock Music became the "lingua franca" of the world. Young people all around the world speak the same language in different dialects. Some of us speak AC/DC, some The Grateful Dead, others Bob Marley ... but all in all we share our emotions in the same language: Rock. You can sit with a french, a spanish, a libanese, an egyptian, a japanese, an indian, a chinese ... and listening to Rock Music you share the same emotion in a common language - our "lingua franca".
"Hail Hail Rock'n'Roll, deliver us from the days of old" made us all brothers and sister fighting the bitter world.of our parents as Pete Townshend once stated: we had enough of their bitterness, we wouldn't be part of their damned wars and being held hostage by the destructive emotions rooted in their experience having or being bombed.
