Go Go Machine Orchestra - 2020-12-08 Trans Musicales, Rennes

Go Go Machine Orchestra was established in 2017 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The group takes elements from many different musical styles (minimalism, electronica, slowcore, percussion-based music) and creates a sound that could be compared to a sight seeing tour: much like each stop along the way provides different scenery, each composition provides a completely different aural landscape. By the journey’s end the listener’s senses have been profoundly affected.

The artists who create the group’s hypnotic collage of music and sound are Ni-Li Tang (piano), Pin-Hsin Wang (electronics), Bai-Hsun Chung (synthesizer), Li-Wei Chen (guitar) and Mao-Sung Lee (percussion).

Each band member studied and perfected their musical craft at various international locales (Paris, New York, Chicago, Tokyo), and after returning to Taiwan formed Go Go Machine Orchestra. They have performed at major music festivals and music industry events all over Taiwan, and now they will embark on their first European tour, with North American and Asian tours to follow. The group is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to share their music with a global audience. (source)

snoid studios on sundays

Tthe typical "Hinterwald" Understatement-style: I'm just nobody (in the also typical hinterwald-patois/dialect, "E. Garkäner = E. Niemand = J(ust) Nobody"). This is how folks at the "Hinterwald" handle this kind of stuff: "We're not interested in making money or being successfull - we just wanna make our thing". So none of the bands had ever a greater audience - even they deserved a lot of like "Sinalco Fluor S" or Triebwagen with their dialect lyrics.

So "Snoid Studios" (aka "E. Garkäna") never published a book with his works - even I'm trying really hard to make him do so.

Bunny Wailer is dead

the rest of this marvelous record

and, speaking of the beloved dead: 30 years ago serge gainsbourg died

yep ... the one with "je t'aime ... mois non plus" /sigh

ever listened to "l'histoire de melodie nelson"? experiencing these wonderful 30 minutes you'll understand, "je t'aime" is beautiful, but .... hmmm ... he made better stuff and "melodie" to me is on top of that

side 1

sise 2

serge gainsbourg, that's ths little jew with a mighty nose who first had brigitte bardot and then jane birkin in bed.

he's also the one who covered the french national anthem, "marseillaise" with sly & robbie as roots reggae ...

Following harsh and anti-semitic criticism in right-wing newspaper Le Figaro by Charles de Gaulle biographer Michel Droit, his song earned him death threats from right-wing veteran soldiers of the Algerian War of Independence, who were opposed to their national anthem being arranged in reggae style. In 1979, a show had to be cancelled, because an angry mob of French Army parachutists came to demonstrate in the audience. Alone onstage, Gainsbourg raised his fist and answered: "The true meaning of our national anthem is revolutionary" and sang it a capella with the audience. The soldiers joined them, a scene enjoyed by millions as French TV news broadcast it, creating more publicity

this is a scene that always touched me deep inside and drives me to tears everytime i recall it. while the rest of the musicians hides backstage, this little jew with his big nose hit the stage, alone with his guitar and makes the haters in the audience singing with him the "marseillaise"

okay, "je t'aime ..." I understand ;)

Happy Birthday, Iguan!
